ABOUT US
In 1989, Semyon, a professional photographer with an engineering degree, immigrated to Milwaukee from the Soviet Union with his wife, Maria, and their three sons. Shortly after, an opportunity arose to purchase a cobbler and tailor shop in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. Leveraging his keen eye and technical background, Semyon took over the business as a shoemaker while Maria served as the tailor. The community quickly embraced them, and the business flourished.
However, in May 1991, a fire from a neighboring bakery spread through the building, destroying the shop.
Despite this setback, Semyon reopened as ABA SEMAR Alterations And Repairs on October 1, 1991, in a smaller 300-square-foot space in Glendale. It was during this time that his sons began helping at the shop after school.
The business continued to grow, expanding to a second location in Grafton, Wisconsin, in 1995. Today, after many years of evolution, we are ABA SEMAR Alterations And Repairs. We specialize in clothing alterations, luggage repair, zippers, and watch repair services.
Our goal remains to provide the best possible service to our customers.
